Expanding Opioid Treatment Capacity Through Automation
We are pleased to announce our strategic partnership with Opio Connect; a pioneer in clinical automation for Opioid Treatment Programs (OTPs).
For years, MedSTAT and Opio have worked together with a shared vision for the future of medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
We recognized early that automation would play an increasingly important role in safely and efficiently dispensing medications in high-volume treatment environments. With that future in mind, MedSTAT and Opio collaborated to identify, evaluate, and qualify the bottles and caps best suited for use with Opio’s automated dispensing technology.
Today, that early collaboration has positioned MedSTAT as the only identified provider of consumables for Zing applications – an important distinction as automation becomes an increasingly integral part of medication dispensing.
But this partnership is about more than bottles and caps.
It is about combining innovative technology with the dependable supply, expertise, and responsive service treatment providers need to keep their operations running smoothly.
Together, MedSTAT and Opio are helping support the next generation of MAT – bringing automation, reliability, and exceptional service together so treatment providers can spend less time managing logistics / administration and more time focused on patient care.
This partnership marks a significant advancement in medication for opioid use disorder access and operational scalability. Additional details about Opio and the ZING® system are included below. For strategic inquiries or demonstration requests, please contact our team for additional information.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Connell
Chief Executive Officer

Important Details About Opio Connect and the ZING® system
Opio Connect developed the ZING® system – an automated methodone dose assembly system designed to eliminate operational bottlenecks, optimize clinical workflows, and relieve overburdened nursing staff. By introducing high-speed automation to a sector severely impacted by labor shortages, the ZING® platform modernizes dose preparation and accelerates patient care delivery.
Core Technical Specifications
End-to-End Automation: The platform measures, bottles, caps, heat-seals, labels, and integrates with the EMR to document the assembly of liquid methadone doses automatically.
Throughput Optimization: Operating at a capacity of up to 400 doses
per hour, ZING® delivers a 4X increase in processing speed compared to traditional manual dispensing.
EMR Interoperability: Deep integration with specialized Electronic Medical Record platforms (including Methasoft, SAMMS, MethodOne and Kipu Health) enables single-click transmission of approved dosing orders
directly from clinicians to the hardware.
Strategic Operational & Financial Value
Clinical Resource Reallocation: Traditional manual dose preparation consumes up to 75% of a nurse’s shift. Automating this process allows health systems to redirect skilled nursing hours toward patient care,
counseling, and retention.
Scalable Rural Expansion: The ZING® Satellite™ system pairs hardware automation with real-time telehealth infrastructure. This framework allows centralized OTP clinicians to remotely manage compliant satellite units in rural clinics and community hospitals without requiring full-time, onsite addiction specialists.
Alignment with Federal Initiatives: The platform’s remote architecture directly leverages federal funding mechanisms, such as the CMS Rural Health Transformation (RHT) Program, ensuring long-term financial sustainability in lower-volume markets.
